Is 1.75 yards too short for a fleece tie blanket?

this guy i like and i are getting eachother christmas present. i decided to make him a fleece tie blanket with his favorite sports team on it. i only got 1.75 yds of fabric for each side. do you think that will be too short?! hes not very tall, about 5'6"
