Why do some people let there bodies go?

Geez I was just at the store a while ago and geez not making fun of anyone. But why do some people not take care of themselves. One guy had hardly no teeth, one guy was so fat he was a heart attack waiting to happen and younger than me. I mean don't these people look in the mirror and say dang i need to start taking care of myself.
