Any cheap, but good vacuums out there?

See if there is a Vacuum repair shop nearby. Try yard sales, Goodwill or estate sales. You are probably going to go through a few of them since you have lots of animals. Otherwise you are just going to give up and drop the money for a Dyson or something. Best of luck!
