Is right for a man to eat better that his wife?

I believe it is customary for gentlemen to dine with their wives. If however, as you have said your wife does not appreciate such fine dining, then carry on as you have been doing. However, I would suggest allowing her to dine with you when you have dinner guests visiting for formal occasions.
